TODD HAMMMOTORCYCLE INSTRUCTOR

Todd was introduced to dirt bikes as a young man in his hometown of Colorado Springs, where he spent many hours with friends playing Evil Knievel in empty fields and exploring the nearby mountains. He graduated to street bikes as soon as he had a driver’s license. His favorite street bike was a Yamaha Virago on which he met Alicia, his wife of twenty-five years, in Norman, Oklahoma. Todd first met D.A.R.T. owner Bill Dragoo while racing mountain bikes in early 2000. After purchasing his current bike, a 2015 BMW R1200 GS Adventure, he took a class with Bill, where he demonstrated considerable talent. Later that year he began helping as an assistant instructor and now is a regular instructor with the D.A.R.T. program. According to Todd, he and fellow D.A.R.T. instructor Zeke Sikich “are in a perpetual state of trip planning.”

Mountain biking, road cycling, woodworking and gardening round out Todd’s hobbies. Although Todd retired from firefighting in 2017, he says he still finds it hard to fit in all the fun.
