Overland Expo is packed full of educational opportunities! Here is the full rundown of all things education happening at Overland Expo West 2024.
In response to the overwhelming popularity of the Creator Area, Overland Expo is adding a new multi-purpose area called the Storytelling Pavilion.
After a long COVID-related absence from the US, Overland Expo cannot wait to welcome back Sam Manicom in 2022, where he plans to attend our Mountain West and East events in August and October.
Our hands-on pavilion get you out of your seat and into action with a qualified instructor. Each year we bring you technical classes essential for overlanding. Rotating topics cover everything from how-tos about electronics to hands-on maintenance and roadside repairs to injury assessment and first-aid to showing how to set up gear and what to take with you (and sometimes leave behind).
Our classroom sessions aim to provide more intensive and specified education for those looking to do a deeper or more advanced dive into a given topic/area. With our numerous navigation classes, there are no more excuses for getting lost when your GPS dies. Learn communications skills to enhance your overland experience. Brush up on your art of travel techniques with photography and videography classes. Stay safe with situational awareness tips from experts in their field. No matter if you drive a truck or motorcycle, we’ve got classes for you.
AT THE OVERLAND THEATER
Each year we offer a new selection of slideshows of trips from around the world. On Friday and Saturday evenings, we host a special lineup of films at the Fieldcraft Survival Overland Theater. We start with an appetizer of short films before the feature film.
This space includes a teaching area tent that will host education related to content creation, such as photography clinics with incredibly talented photographers, “how to” classes on everything from video creation to the legal terms involved with making money as a content creator, and stories from folks who are traveling around the world.
