What is overlanding?

VERB – “Overlanding” has taken on a variety of different meanings in recent years. To us, overlanding is self-sufficient vehicle or adventure motorcycle travel where the journey itself is the goal.
At its core, overlanding is about exploration. Whether traveling by truck or motorcycle, overlanding is about riding the road less traveled and immersing yourself in the environments and cultures you encounter.
What is overland expo?
Overland Expo is the world’s premier event series for do-it-yourself adventure travel enthusiasts. Hundreds of vendors of adventure travel equipment, camping gear, bikes, vehicles, and services convene at every Overland Expo event.
Each Expo hosts hundreds of session-hours of classes, including lessons in off-road driving techniques and adventure motorcycling, inspirational programs, round-table discussions, demonstrations, as well as the Overland Film Festival.
How the Weekend Works

CAMP on the grounds
On-site rustic festival-style camping puts you in the middle of it all. Pitch your tent, roll in your rig or set up however you like. Wake up outside, walk straight into the action and stay until the day runs out.
Shop camping gear
More than 300 exhibitors bring their best camping and outdoor gear to one place. Some exhibitors offer exclusive show specials. See it, touch it, ask questions and buy it on the spot. No late-night research spirals. You’ll know exactly what’s coming home with you.

More than 175 classes, workshops. and sessions cover everything from backcountry cooking to trip planning to basic vehicle prep. Real expert instructors. Beginner-friendly. You’ll leave knowing something you didn’t walk in with.

Classes Built for Real Life
You don’t need to be an expert to take a class at Overland Expo. Instructors range from certified wilderness guides to experienced weekend campers who’ve learned things the hard way so you don’t have to. Pick one session or build a full schedule. Either way, you’ll leave with something useful.
